was founded in 1991 as „Institut für angewandte Psychologie“.
The intention was to convey people, groups, companies, institutes and organisations
application-oriented psychological knowledge.
In the course of the activities of the organisation the
ambition was changed into the promotion and mediation of international contacts
in the fields of education. To stay abreast of changes we renamed the organisation
into “Institut für Internationale Bildungskooperation an der
Hochschule Merseburg e.V. (IBK)
In June 2003 we start one of our first international projects
– a long-term cooperation between the „Hochschule Merseburg (FH)”
(HSM) and the „Jiangsu Teachers University of Technology“ (JTUT)
in Changzhou (China) in the subjects of Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering and
Business Sciences according to the twinning model
2 + 2. It means the first two years study at JTUT, the following two years study
at HSM; all students who passed the study get a double – bachelor –
degree of both universities which is accepted in China and Europe.
After two years of study at JTUT in September 2006 the first 76 students were
welcome at the campus of HSM in Merseburg. Until 2016 it was almost 1,300 participants.
Because of the successful work IBK was appointed by the
senate of HSM into an independent institute of the University of Applied Sciences
